In the gloaming dark indigo and black
of this human play
Keep your flicker
Hang on dear ones
The world has turned this way many times
But also back to light
From the waves of a thousand ripples like yours
Whatever your call, your art
Do not be duped by shadows and liars
Follow the flames of good
into the dark black pall of our age
And become the Light Warrior that you are
Find your kin and march to fight
with blazing beauty
Torches of love into the midnight
Create the dawn
Inspired by a fellow surfing mom.
We all need to shine as bright as we can right now for one another.
BE THE LIGHT

I have a friend
We are tethered by strings of hope
Rainbow fractals breaking across bumpers
Love hanging upside down in lichens
Diamonds glittering on waves
In between motherhood and life
Chasing songs of connection
We do not stand in person together often
But we share threads of light
Light bouncing and signaling off of my screen
In unexpected halos of song
That weave their beauty in between the fires,
the cries, the booboos, the I'm hungries, the genocide,
the weather.
In between cracks of chaos and disaster. Beauty shines.
Songs travel. We are still singing.
Rays caught bouncing of dashboards sent along satellites and waves
To find her.
I have a friend.
