Every single rock gets picked up for a reason.
Some are old favorites that will get picked up and searched for
many times to help me tell a story. Others are just too
beautiful to pass by. Some only show off their beauty
when placed amongst others. Each one holds a story
of shape, color, lines, holes and waves. Shaped and tossed
through the ocean, crabs and sand. Brushed up and
stacked by small hands. Feet stomping through their rounded
edges. Whole galaxies inside and brushed across their surfaces.
During covid I needed out of our confining spaces. I found breath when I would go out and walk the beach by my home. I started seeing all the colors and beauty of the stones on the shores. There was so much treasure. The colors fascinated me especially when placed next to each other. My rock art evolved from simple images on my picnic table, to stories and places my children wanted to travel to, to stories of light and transformation. Each serving its own purpose on my artistic and life journey. I am blessed to share them with you.
